Hey y’all. Why didn’t Maggie go with Alex to see his parents? That was the plan correct? One more thing where is the gun that cousin Eddie threw out the truck? Was that maybe one of the murder weapons.? My nick name for y’all is… “LAGENTS” ladies and gentleman. Well your like agents right? Lol Y’all are the best. Blessings get rest when you can! THANK YOU FOR DOING WHAT YOUR DOING! My mom is 81 and loves you all! You bring light to her life and that’s a good thing. Peace out….
Working in a regulated financial industry in another state, I've wondered if the SC Banking authority has anything to say about Palmetto State Bank. It's noted on this page as a regulated institution by the State - which means it should have been getting inspections https://banking.sc.gov/regulated-institutions/banks. Any intel on where the state fell down here?
Have you contemplated a documentary or some other format in which the Murdaugh stories are told, but the overarching focus is on the chokehold of CORRUPTION that dominates (dominated?) this area of SC? MMP episodes do dwell a good bit on corruption but It seems the larger media companies (and I suspect you're being approached by many of them) have been focusing on the murders, so-called attempted murder, and of course the horrific treatment of AM's clients and others. The vast corruption across the lawyers, the banks, the judiciary, and the law enforcement agencies is getting little attention. Keep up the great work! AnnFromVirginia
I want to ask Mandy, Eric and Liz what order they think the prosecution will say in the trial who was killed first. I keep flip flopping. I think sometimes that Paul "got involved in something he shouldn't" and he was the target because his trial would end when he died (therefore hiding his financial crimes longer) and Maggie ran away when she heard the shots and he shot her second. Then I flip my thinking and consider that he lured Maggie to the house, her friends said she was suspicious, they didn't end up going to see her father-in-law (the reason for the lure) and didn't know Paul was there when he confronted her about her about something triggering (like going to the police or his law firm or divorcing him or even for sympathy so everyone would lay off him), then Paul hid in the the feed room and he opened the door and shot him point blank because he was a witness ("why did you have to get involved"). Two different guns also suggests to me one was not planned or was "discovered" after the other was shot. I would love to know what you each speculate.
My questions are more journalistic wonders for Mandy and Liz. Y'all have gone from writing for the Island Packet to FITS News and now doing the podcast full-time. Have sources been more open (or less open) during these transitions? Were sources more apt to speak with you when you worked for a daily print/web organization or when its online-only organization? Also, do you miss writing news stories? I know covering this story on a daily basis and writing stories is tough, but do you miss the ability to tell a breaking news story in more than 140 (or however many) characters on Twitter?
I hate to into the minutiae of nomenclature, but this one trips me up a bit, especially since I listen to the pod when I’m skiing and generally am not in a position to rewind to listen for context. When you are referring to ‘acid test’, is that more or less the same thing as a litmus test?
Can Eric Bland start one of those sleep stories type apps where instead of listening to Rege Jean Page tell a saucy tale, Eric can talk about Murdaugh trial nuance and strategy? Or even just list out all the ways Judge Mullen is in ethical breach of her position? Perhaps that would be good extra content for us premium members. I know I could get quite a few of my friends to sign up for a premium membership with just that.
Hi, Lily here... The moment I heard Buster complaining about Blanco taking things out of the houses a huge exclamation point went off in my head. I know there are two Blankos, I remarked on your insta how weird that was. Again, what are the odds of having two Blancos in your life? But I'm wondering if you've heard anything about her being questioned... what did she take (besides Maggies clothes)? Was she getting rid of evidence? Papers? Account info? That's just so weird that Buster was irritated and Alex was like "No big deal... anyhoo, can you please do this, this, and this?"
